He's the newly appointed captain of the most topical team at the moment, Robin Van Persie will take over the captain's armband at Arsenal from Cesc Fabregas. In this video we find out where it all began for the Arsenal striker, who believe it or not never used to have a good left shot...

In this adidas football video, Robin Van Persie talks passionately about football, where he picked up his technique and his passion for the game, all cut into video footage of RVP playing as a young lad.

Commenting on Robin's appointment as Arsenal captain, Arsene Wenger said: "He is a leader through the way he plays, through his attitude and through his desire to win." With Van Persie himself addin "As captain you are an ambassador for the Club and I m ready for that."

Van Persie is also an ambassador for the adidas Predator football boots, and you may notice at 1:47 there's a shot of a young RVP sporting a pair of Predator Rapier's. Van Persie is of course wearing the current Predator adiPower football boots, which he was on hand to launch at the London 'Call the Shots' Event.
