New Boots, Similar Colourway for Nicolas Anelka!
Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka may be seeing out his playing days in the Chinese Super League, but that hasn't kept him out of the eye's of our SoccerBible bootspotting scouts! The Frenchman, who is currently playing for Shanghai Shenhua, caught our attention as he turned out to a training session wearing a familiar looking pair of miadidas f50 miCoach football boots.
Look familiar? That was our first thought when we caught a glimpse of Anelka's new footwear. The boots are believed to be a miadidas creation, but we think we've discovered his inspiration! Take a look and let us know what you think.
Anelka's miadidas boots feature a near identical colour-scheme to the Blue/White/Slime adizero football boots released in August 2011 - a boot that the striker made many appearances in during his Chelsea days. Released as the final colourway to the second generation adizero range, the boots quickly became one of the most popular f50 colourways, worn by players including Karim Benzema, David Silva and Gareth Bale.
At a time when each adizero colourway is met with a great deal of scrutiny, Anelka's recent creation is one of the most eye-pleasing designs we've seen hit the adizero miCoach! Besides boasting a fresh colour combo, football players are known for their on-pitch superstitions which could explain Anelka's decision to carry across the same colourway to his new f50 boots - maybe adidas should follow suit!
Anelka has always given thought to what he wears on his feet. The former Puma man gained boot notoriety when he became the Premier League's lead wearer of the popular pink Puma v1.08, staring in a rather memorable advert to promote his pink Puma's! After the introduction of the adizero, it didn't take long for Anelka to switch allegiances, quickly becoming a recognised adizero wearer throughout his Chelsea career.
We don't think Anelka's new adizero miCoach boots look too shabby, but let us know what you think! How do they compare to some of adidas' official releases? Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
