Travis Dodd's Ultimate Boot Customization - Aboriginal Style!
This is boot customisation at its best! Perth Glory midfielder Travis Dodd gave us one of our most extraordinary boot spots during his sides A-League match up with Wellington Phoenix. The custom creation is the work of international artist Daren Dun, who specialises in bespoke aboriginal designs on sports shoes!
Dodd's T90's were understandably the stand-out boots on show and sparked quite a reaction as he stepped out onto the Perth Oval turf for the A-League Elimination final match. It was the first time the Australian had worn his newly customised cleats as Perth Glory eventually overcame rivals Wellington Phoenix with a thrilling extra-time winner.
It's certainly not your average boot! Custom paintwork on football boots is somewhat of a rarity, especially to the level of Dodd's Nike Laser IV's. Joma became the only brand to experiment with the method on a retail level last year with the limited release of the 'Pepe Reina' Total Fit. We're not sure how many matches Travis would get through wearing the boots but when they look that good, just leave them at home!
We'll be keeping an eye on Dodd's footwear in Perth's upcoming fixtures! Let us know what you think of his custom artwork. Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
