The Asics Urban Treadmill
What happens when you combine an urban obstacle course with football training? The result, a very unexpected video from Asics. Putting their Lethal Tigreor 5 football boots through a non-stop training drill, just make sure there are plenty of crash mats close by...
If you were to watch this video unaware of the boots and brand, you might not jump to the conclusion it's come from the Asics creative department. To us this makes the video more entertaining, and credit goes to Asics' for trying something different, becuase let's be honest who wouldn't want to try the Urban Treadmill?!
Despite the crazy concept, there's genuine thinking and a message behind the Urban Treadmill. The new Asics Lethal Tigreor 5 football boots feature a 10mm heel gradient, meaning the player is constantly in a more prone position for acceleration and being ready to react.
Putting this into practice, you need quick feet to react to what's coming next on the conveyor belt, and of course good technique helps also. I guess what we're saying is, this exercise is more suited to Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, than it is to say Emile Heskey or Andy Carroll.
