Nike Motivates England Squad with Twitter Messages
Since the England squad met up at St George's Park on Sunday, Nike have been using every opportunity to remind the players of the passionate support they enjoy and the importance of the England shirt. Using twitter messages printed around every corner, the new kit supplier has been working hard to ram home the message.
Nike are keen to motivate the players every which way they can and judging on last night's performance they need it. From painting the training pitch, to personalising suit carriers and printing on pillows for the plane journey to Rio. They even printed on the pool table!
When the lads arrived at the training pitch to prepare for the upcoming friendlies they were greeted with a huge message printed on the pitch. It read "New Shirt, New Era, Make it Yours" which was a nice touch courtesy of @nedoz9. Also given some extra motivation whilst practising freekicks was Walcott, whose dummy wall bore another message.
Danny Welbeck and Glen Johnson didn't escape when enjoying some down time with a game of pool. Let's hope Welbeck is better at potting balls than he currently is at sticking the ball in the back of the net.
Prior to last night's game the team received personalised suit bags in their dressing room and messages were posted on the ad boards during the warm-ups. Even Roy, looking more and more like a Barn Owl, got a taste of the public's support with messages being printed on the press conference back-drop.
On this morning's plane to Rio the team received personalised tickets and pillows. Rooney looked really (special) pleased to receive his, even if he was looking a tad tired. Bless him, those middle of the night feeds must be getting to him. Looking after the new baby too.
Nice work Nike, let's hope it works and they get a better result in Rio on Sunday. The game against Brazil will be the first outing for the new away shirt and we're looking forward to seeing it in action. Collar up or down?
