Eleven players who have impressed in Europe so far this season.
With the season now in full swing we've been debating which players have caught the eye, from rock solid defenders to free scoring strikers, we've put together our list of the most in form players in Europe so far this campaign. In order, here's our top eleven performers...
1 | Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) - He does it game after game, season after season. You can begin to take his performances for granted as we've become used to it but sometimes you have to sit back and appreciate his record, Cristiano Ronaldo's start to the season is outstanding. 21 goals, 5 braces and 2 hat tricks, what more do you want? His Ballon d'Or year for us.
2 | Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid) - Costa has been sensational for Atletico Madrid this season, and has shown that he is more than able to fill the shoes of Ramadel Falcao. The forward has arguably been better, allowing more link up play and enabling fellow forwards such as Arda Turan to flourish as well. Well deserved call up to the Spain squad too.
3 | Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) - After having the start to the season he could have only dreamed of - especially given his struggles last season, Ramsey has repaid his manager s faith tenfold - and it is only November. Goals, assists, performance. Simply top draw. 11 goals in 150 appearances for Arsenal before the 2013/14 campaign, this season he's bagged 11 in 17.
4 | Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona) - In a squad like Barcelona s, it is hard to pick a star man, but Sanchez has actually been the saviour for the Catalan club this season. He has netted vital goals when the club needed them most and has even stepped up to the mark when Leo Messi has failed to. Yes, you read that right. Failing to score for more than two games in a row constitutes a crisis for Messi and he was in a full blown one not too long ago.
5 | Oscar (Chelsea) - If you are Jose Mourinho s star man, you must be doing something right. Whilst their forwards have faltered, Oscar has flourished, looking better and better each game. We had seen glimpses of his talent last season, but nothing compared to this term. Teammate Ramires claims he will win the Ballon d'Or and he that assumption might not be as crazy as it seems.
6 | Mehdi Benatia (Roma) - At this minute in time, the defender has no parallel in Serie A. He has been one of the major reasons behind the run of Roma and the reason they have conceded so few goals. He claims he lives for football and watches tens of games a week and it shows. A combination of him and Totti have taken Roma to the top of the pile and they don t look like giving that up easily.
7 | Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) - The star of last season has continued in much the same vein. Ribery has shown that he's able to match the two best players in the world trophy for trophy, and this season has actually made a fairly decent claim for the Ballon d Or. Quite if he will win the political vote remains to be seen, but he certainly deserves a place on this list.
8 | Paul Pogba (Juventus) - He must be one of the biggest regrets Fergie has. Allowing Pogba to leave looks a worse decision by the day. Already having mastered the art of running the show in Serie A, Pogba looked untouchable at times against Real Madrid in the Champions League and actually made their Galacticos look pretty ordinary at times.
9 | Leo Messi (Barcelona) - You might have heard of him? Short, Argentinian striker, plays for Barcelona? The boy has been scoring goals since the day he could walk and he's already notched 14 goals this season. If he isn't scoring a hat-trick every game then people start to question his form but he's scored twice as many as Barca's next top scorer. By his own very high standards we reckon he's thinking the best is still yet to come this season.
10 | Koke (Atletico Madrid) - Diego Costa aside, the Manchester United target has been every bit as responsible for the success Atleti have had this season. He has come on leaps and bounds under Diego Simeone and looks like being one of the very brightest stars of the future. It will certainly take a huge amount to prize him away from the Spanish giants, that s for sure.
11 | Remy Cabella (Montpellier) - Goals, assists, sensational displays. The wiz kid has it all. He has been linked with a move to the Premier League in January, but given his performances this season so far, Montpellier will take some convincing to let him go. At 23 years of age, the playmaker is tipped for big things if he continues his form.
