The pick of the week's best football boots from across the globe.

A bumper week of boot releases was followed by a full set of fixtures this weekend as players showed off their new footwear on pitch. The world's first ever knitted football boot, an array of colour updates and the odd random design. We select the pick of the boots on show from the last seven days of football.

Luis Suarez (Liverpool) adidas Primeknit

Luis Suarez made history at Old Trafford on Sunday by becoming the first ever footballer to wear a pair of knitted boots. The Liverpool striker wore and scored in the adidas Primeknit as Liverpool hammered their hosts 3-0. The Primeknit is made from just one thread and weighs 165g.

Yohann Cabaye (PSG) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

The Nike spring/summer boot collection was launched earlier this week and made an on pitch debut this weekend. PSG's Yohann Cabaye was in action wearing the new and last ever Nike CTR360 Maestri III colourway. The all red colour up marks the end of the CTR series as it is replaced by the Magista.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Nike HyperVenom

Wayne Rooney was another player who slipped into one of Nike's updates as he featured in Man United's lacklustre performance wearing the new HyperVenom colourway. Rooney has once again opted to customise his boots with a simplistic six-stud soleplate.

Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace) adidas adizero F50

Yannick Bolasie is a bit of a favourite here on boot spotting. Not only does the Crystal Palace midfielder feel obliged to pull out 25 unnecessary step-overs per game, he also loves mixing up his boot choice and this weekend he went for the odd F50 boot combo at the Stadium of Light.

Paul Arriola (Xolos) NikeiD Mercurial Vapor IX

Xolos' Paul Arriola has created a custom pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor IX boots to match up with the Mexican side's home kit. The simplistic red/white design would no doubt be a popular boot should Nike choose to release an official version of Arriola's boot.

Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United) Warrior Gambler

Warrior gave their Gambler series an end of season colour up this week and it was left to Marouane Fellaini to slip into them on Sunday. Fellaini is one of the lead faces of Warrior as the brand continue to barge their way into the Premier League.

Pablo Osvaldo (Juventus) Nike Tiempo Legend V

When he isn't knocking team-mates out and scrapping with coaching staff Pablo Osvaldo occasionally enjoys a spot of football. The on-loan Juve man moved into the latest batch of Nike releases at the weekend by lacing up in the all new Tiempo Legend V.

David Williams (Melbourne Heart) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Melbourne Heart's David Williams was sporting a unique pair of Mercurial Vapor VIII's at the weekend. The design on the side of the boots looks like it could be the work of Aboriginal artist Daren Dunn, whose work we've featured before. If this is the work of Dunn then each design is hand painted and can take between 2 and 9 hours to complete.

Leroy Sane (Schalke 04) Nike Tiempo Legend V

Schalke 04 youngster Leroy Sane has given an alternative personalisation to his Tiempo Legend V boots. Rather than adding something different, Sane has unstitched the Nike 'Swooshes' from the inside and outside of his boots to leave a strange looking blank design.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX '06 Fast Forward

Zlatan scored both goals on Sunday as PSG saw off St Etienne to remain top of Ligue 1. Ibra joined the rest of Nike's contracted Mercurial athletes in the new Vapor IX '06 editions, released earlier in the week as a tribute to the Vapor III worn by Ronaldo at the 2006 World Cup.
