Formerly known as The Chance, Nike begin their unique talent search for young footballers with more opportunities to go pro through the Nike Football App.
Every kid dreams of becoming a professional footballer and Nike are giving aspiring players the platform to achieve exactly that for the fourth consecutive season. Nike Most Wanted - previously known as 'The Chance' - gives amateur, unsigned footballers from around the world an opportunity to earn a place in The Nike Academy at St. George’s Park, the home of the England National Team, and showcase their skills in front of elite coaches.
Since 2010, more than 20 players have signed professional terms with clubs after impressing in the program including Tom Rogic (Celtic), Bruno Covas (Santos), Dominik Boettcher (Hamburg), Abdul Waris (Spartak Moscow), and David Accam (Helsingborgs).
From August 12 players in more than 30 countries can access the opportunity to participate in Most Wanted through the Nike Football App and register for an invitation to local tryouts held throughout September and October. After these tryouts, 40-60 players will be selected for the Global Showcase final, where they'll battle to earn a spot at The Nike Academy.
The local trials are the ultimate shop-window for aspiring footballers where coaches and professional footballers will evaluate the participating talent based on speed, technique, pitch intelligence and conditioning. Make it through to St George's Park and you'll looking at experiencing world-class facilities, elite coaching, and input from nutritionists, psychologists and fitness trainers.
