Celebrating the grassroots of women's football, 'Every Player Counts' is a solo photography exhibition by Flora Maclean. An unique angle, we dropped in to show our appreciation for an almighty collection of thought provoking imagery.
Described as an 'intimate take on sports photography', this series of images looks to document the spirit and culture of the women's game. Thriving and building communities, it's an exhibition of determined grit blossoming with multitudes of talent behind the lens as well as on the pitch.
"A footballer herself, Flora has been struck by both the amount of exclusion women face within football, and the various prejudices against the women’s game. She finds the public’s perception to be in huge contrast to her own experience." You can't argue with the sentiment.
The exhibition features photography that was collected over a year, bottling what many may call an overlooked subculture that sees women taking ownership of an all too male-dominated sport. You can see the exhibition at 71a Leonard Street, London. See more of Flora's work, here.
