adidas look ready to lock up another piece of its future with the signing of Paul Pogba in a career long deal that will keep him with the brand through to 2026.
According to reports published by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paul Pogba is poised to sign a €40m deal with adidas ahead of the 2016 European Championships this summer. Though the exact financial terms aren’t expected to be made public, the deal is set to earn him at least €4m per season, plus numerous bonuses. A quirk of the modern football world, the 22-year-old has risen to the top ranks of European football without an official supplier, often wearing custom designs and blackout boots from both adidas and Nike.
The player's outspoken agent, Mino Raiola has said to have been at the centre of ongoing negations with adidas and Nike, before agreeing terms with the German sportswear giants in a deal that will establish Pogba as an adidas athlete through to 2026. The Frenchman will become a lead figurehead for the adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol — a boot he’s been testing in blackout form during recent weeks.
