Having travelled across the globe during pre-season, Real Madrid teamed up with adidas and New York City's Tango Squad winners to unveil their curiously cool third kit for the 2016/17 season.
Keeping strong company, adidas brought some of the best players from New York's instalment of the Tango League to get their hands on the third kit before anyone else. Moreover, it was Real Madrid players that presented the Tango League ballers with the jersey as a celebration of their efforts during the tournament.
With Marcelo, James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas all on hand, it was a big appled skyline that offered the back drop for these kits that are ripe for picking. More grape over apple though, these kits will be a fresh welcome when the opportunity to don the third comes a calling.
The new Real Madrid 2016/17 third kit is a bespoke beauty. Black with purple accents, the design on the shoulders represents the road from the Santiago Bernabéu to the fountain of Cibeles, a point in the city where Real Madrid fans will gather to welcome their heroes as they make their traditional victory route to celebrate a trophy win. The Undecima coat of arms on the shirt celebrates the fact that Real Madrid was the first club to lift the UEFA Champions League eleven times. Winning all over.
