LAFC have unveiled their first designated player signing as Carlos Vela joins the club. The former Arsenal striker will leave Real Sociedad for MLS in January 2018 ready to mark the first chapter in the club's existence on the pitch.

Off the pitch activities have seen LAFC install themselves as one hell of a slick brand. Creative from top to bottom, the club have drawn up a stylish image in black and gold, worthy of representing one of the world's most iconic cities, and now their on-pitch game is shaping up with the signing of a proven forward, still well in his prime.

Former USMNT coach Bob Bradley has made Vela his first designated player and you can bet that more big names will follow as the club focus on establishing themselves at the very top of the American soccer scene. New stadium on the horizon, debut season a matter of months away, a new rivalry between two Hollywood heavyweights. For LAFC, Vela is a marker intent.
