David Beckham is kicking off 2018 by announcing the upcoming launch of his new grooming brand. House 99 is the name of Beckham's latest business venture and the brand will launch with a 13-piece collection, which will cover everything from hair products to moisturisers.
Beckham has powered into new ground ever since his retirement from football, and the Beckham Brand is as strong and diverse as it has ever been. A new year, a new channel for the former England captain as he enters the booming men's grooming market; coincidently a market which he helped grow throughout his career, now it's time to grab himself a slice of the pie.
When it comes to sport, no man has influenced the traditional views on masculinity more than David Beckham. A late 90s / early 00s Beckham challenged the perception of fashion in football, not just with his outfits but with his ever-changing image and hairstyles, inspiring generations of males to re-consider their own style and grooming routines.
Most importantly, David Beckham still looks the business at 42, so whatever he's doing appears to work. Perfectly placed to enter this competitive market. Beckham himself has been involved with the creation of the line, by working closely on the ingredients in the products, to the product name, design and packaging. The name 99 presumably taken from his most cherished year – 1999 saw Becks win the treble, get married and become a father for the first time.
“I’m so excited to finally share House 99 with everyone around the world," Beckham, Founder of House 99 stated. "For me, grooming is not only about how you look, but how you feel. It’s about being comfortable, trying new things and shaping your next look. I created House 99 to give people the inspiration as well as the right products to experiment and feel completely at home doing so.”
House 99 is set to launch exclusively at Harvey Nichols from Feb 1st, and in 19 countries on March 4th. Keep up to date by following House 99 on Instagram.
