Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has revealed a limited edition jersey to celebrate a major Swoosh landmark. The shirt marks 40 years of Nike Football and is set to launch in stores later this month.
Nike have taken their replica game to new heights this season by focusing hard on the limited edition jersey market. The launch of their "Jersey Store" as a home to limited edition, rare, and bespoke football shirts has embraced and built upon the current trend of football shirts in lifestyle and fashion environments. And now the Swoosh are launching a limited run of shirts to celebrate their 40th year in Football – starting with Icardi who boasted his own "M19" club crest on his Instagram stories.
A double Swoosh in the same style as the recent Off White x Vivendii jersey sits on the opposite side of the crest, and a target appears in the centre of the shirt where the traditional sponsor would sit. Icardi has got the ball rolling, but other leading Nike players are expected to follow suit in custom logo designs.
The 40 Years of Nike Football jersey will be available on Apr 19 in Europe.
