Cameroon Sign Le Coq Sportif Deal Ahead of AFCoN19

Le Coq Sportif have gone and landed one of the most fancied African nations ahead of a big summer of football as the French brand announce an official partnership with Cameroon. 20 years of PUMA comes to an end for the Indomitable Lions in favour of a new chapter that could get off to a flyer this summer.

The Cameroon FA announced last month that they would be parting ways with long-term sponsors PUMA, and adidas and Nike were quickly talked about as the front-runners to take over the partnership, but it's Le Coq Sportif who have swooped in. Cameroon will reveal and wear their new Le Coq Sportif kits before they arrive in Egypt to take part in the AFCoN 2019 from June 21 to July 19.

Le Coq Sportif have a classy but low-key presence in club football which includes contracts with Fiorentina and Saint-Étienne, but their market share on the international scene was even lower. The brand have history with Cameroon though; the iconic cockerel logo appeared on the shirts of Cameroon during the 1982 World Cup in Spain. Le Coq Sportif are renown for their exquisite minimal jersey designs, so it'll be interesting to see how they handle the new kit, especially considering how immense PUMA's final Cameroon design was.

Stay tuned for a first look at Le Coq Sportif's Cameroon shirt for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
