The promise of a place in the Premier League is tantalisingly close for Aston Villa, but that aside, they’ve now made the announcement that they’ve agreed a three year kit sponsorship deal with Italian sportswear brand Kappa. To mark the new relationship they’ve commissioned the creation of a claret and blue street art design, which also celebrates the anniversary of the iconic Kappa logo.
The deal between Aston Villa and Kappa will see the Italian brand providing training wear for the club’s first team, development and junior sides as well as the Ladies’ teams. As part of the announcement and to celebrate the deal a claret and blue street art design was created, which also served to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the iconic Kappa logo.
The Kappa brand and its logo are founded on equality, while Birmingham itself has one of the most culturally diverse communities in the UK. This theme of equality is very much apparent in the mural, which features players from the men’s and women’s sides in three distinctive categories – management team, player captains and homegrown talent. They include Dean Smith and Gemma Davies, Jack Grealish and Kerri Welsh as well as Andre Green and Jodie Hutton.
