Glastonbury To Screen Lionesses' World Cup Quarter Final

If you’re heading to Glastonbury this week and you were concerned about how you were going to watch the Lionesses in their World Cup quarter final against Norway on Thursday evening, looks like you’ve got nothing to worry about after organisers of the music festival announced that they will screen the game.

The announcement that England’s World Cup quarter final against Norway would be screened live on Thursday evening at Glastonbury came about after Georgia Stanway tweeted the event asking if they would do so so that her brother could watch the game as he would be in attendance at the festival. And event organisers kindly obliged, announcing that the game would be shown on the West Holts Stage’s big screens.

Some people questioned why Glastonbury had changed its rules in terms of showing football matches at the festival after past World Cup games had not been screened, however it was quickly pointed out that the game did not clash with the main events on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and therefore did not cause any problems with performances.

England play Norway on Thursday 27 June at 20:00 BST, and it will be live on BBC One. Hope everyone at Glastonbury has a TV licence...
