Arsenal Stars Surprise Fans At adidas LDN MakerLab Event

Showing off the capabilities of their new LDN flagship store, adidas called in Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil, David Luiz, Lucas Torreira and Kieran Tierney to Oxford Street to surprise lucky fans at a recent MakerLab event.

The new adidas LDN flagship store opened on Oxford Street at the end of last month, and it hasn’t taken long for the Three Stripes to flex their collaborative powers, calling in Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil, David Luiz, Lucas Torreira, Kieran Tierney and club legend Ian Wright to surprise fans and Arsenal in the Community participants for a kit-customisation session at the store’s MakerLab.

Once the initial excitement surrounding their arrival had passed, the Gunners stars helped fans to customise their kits. “We don’t always get to spend time with the fans face to face, so it was great fun to surprise them and spend some time helping them customise the kit.” said David Luiz. “Some of the designs were really cool. Maybe we found some people to help with next season’s kits!

Through the course of the event the guests and players collaborated at a series of stations led by London creators including poster design with Art of Football, sneaker customisation with Afrokicks, and jersey customisation with Gulio Miglietta, Charlie Shazer and Nashmoney.

The adidas LDN flagship store on Oxford Street has been designed as a platform for creativity, with co-creation spaces, art installations and exclusive collaborations giving customers the opportunity to create with the brand.
