Following the rather surprising sacking of Mauricio Pochettino and the subsequent hiring of Jose Mourinho, Spurs’ future is certain to be an interesting one. But one man who will be hoping it’s interesting for all the right reasons is Michael Dodman, better known as Huxley.
A diehard Spurs fan, Huxley has firmly established his own distinctive brand of house music on the scene, which he has been playing in venues throughout Europe. Ahead of the release of his latest EP, titled ‘Self Affirmation’, we caught up with Huxley to get his match day playlist, but before that he laid out his ultimate Tottenham 5-a-side team. Fair to say that this one will be controversial amongst Spurs fans…
Keeper – Pat Jennings
Arguably the most iconic keeper we’ve ever had. If it wasn’t Jennings I would probably would have to put Lloris in here.
Defender – Ledley King
When Ledley was fit he was the best defender in the country, in my opinion, and could have been seen as one of the best English defenders ever if he hadn’t been plagued with injury.
Midfielder – Bale
Might not be our best defensively, but when it comes to 5-a-side you need some pace and people creatively making things all over the pitch. I was torn between Bale, Ginola or Modric here.
Strikers – Robbie Keane & Dimitar Berbatov
I’m going to put it out there, not a choice everyone would make, but this is 5-aside. I think when they had their period of their partnership they would absolutely tear any defence a new one.
PRE-MATCH:
Alan Braxe & Fred Falke – Intro
Because, you always need an intro! Also it’s a good track to get the crowd going.
Zombie Nation – Kernkraft 400
What’s a football game without this track?
Chas & Dave – Rabbit
As a tottenham fan, I had to include these lads. This is probably their most famous track, but also a bit of a banger to get the crowd going.
Underworld – Born Slippy
Anthem! who doesn’t love singing along to this.
The Automatic – Monster
I included this one because it has birthed some of the best football chants ever.
POST-MATCH:
DJ Kahled ft T Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg – All We Do is Win
If you’ve won, obviously. Probably can’t play this at Spurs this season.
Beck – Loser
If you’ve lost, obviously.
Liquid – Sweet Harmony
To get a proper hands in the air moment and anthemic track to sing along to.
Oasis – Champagne Supernova
Great for any victory!
Phats & Smalls – Turn Around
To get you back from the depths of despair after you’ve lost!
