Cristiano Ronaldo’s Watch Is Rolex’s Most Expensive Ever

Ahead of the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted wearing a rather dazzling new timepiece, and it turns out that it was a GMT Master II Ice, Rolex’s most expensive watch ever offered to the public, retailing at a staggering $485,350 USD.

Arriving at the Riyadh Airport ahead of the Supercoppa Italiana, Ronaldo ensured the watch was hard to miss as he headed through passport control. The Rolex GMT Master II Ice – reference 116769TBR in case you’re interested and are far richer than us – features 18-karat white gold and 30 carats of white diamonds, and the 13mm thick case can is waterproof to 330 feet. Its automatic movement can provide up to 50 hours of power reserve, though telling the time is probably only an added bonus for a piece like this. While most of the surface is covered in brilliant-cut diamonds, the bezel is set with dazzling baguette-cut diamonds to create a subtle geometric contrast. Bling of the highest order.

But when you are one of the highest earning athletes of the decade, why not flaunt it. Fact is he probably didn’t even have to pay for it, and that’s the real sickener when you think that it’s probably worth more than your house. And even if he did have to pay for it, he would only have to sell two Instagram posts to afford it.

As well as his arrival at the airport, Ronaldo also showed off the Rolex when he made an appearance at the 14th Dubai International Sports Conference, where the timepiece was accompanied by a cushion-cut canary yellow diamond ring estimated to cost $261,000 and a wedding band valued at $65,400. Collectively, he was wearing $824,040 – just shy of $1 million – of fine jewelry on just one hand. But is he really happy? Yes. Yes he is.

Look at his little face as he and mrs take the caravan to Scarborough for a long weekend. Loves it.
