Marcus Rashford is one of the few players to have benefitted from the pandemic-enforced pause on the season, with the break in action giving the England international time to recover from an injury he sustained back in December. Now he’s back in training, ready for the return, and he recently rocked up to United’s training ground in a £150,000 custom Mercedes-AMG G63.
Rashford is known for his love of expensive cars, something which was apparent from the moment he broke into the first team as a teenager, when he turned up to training in an Audi RS4 worth £60,000. That progressed to the Mercedes CLA 45 Coupe, also valued at around £60,000, before he then moved onto the Mercedes S Class Coupe – that starts at around £103,000. That was then followed up by a Range Rover Velar, but now he’s trumped all of those, upgrading once again to a custom 4.0-litre V-8 engine Mercedes-AMG G63.
The 22-year old was spotted arriving at United’s Carrington training ground in the vehicle, valued at £140,000 before the customisation that he’s had done. Along with the usual fittings, Rashford has customised his bonnet and also changed the paint on the SUV, giving it a military-style look. That along with the customised bonnet make it look fit for modern warfare, and with 577 horsepower, it can do 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds. A proper beast in every sense.
But for anyone who judges Rashford on his enjoyment of expensive cars, bear this in mind: during lockdown he has started a charity that raised £20 million and helped feed 2.8 million children, launched a Christmas Box campaign with Selfridges to help Manchester's homeless, and learned sign language to judge a poetry competition in a deaf school. All that and he's only 22. Think he deserves the car.
Rashford is set to be back in action for United when the Premier League resumes this month.
