Umbro Unveil Winning Designs From 'For The Love Of Shirts' Competition

Umbro have been running a competition called ‘For The Love Of Shirts’, inviting fans to share their favourite mash-up proposal using a maximum of four different shirts, with mash-up label Blood In Blood Out creating the best. And now, the results are in…

Umbro have been quietly going about there business over the last couple of seasons, absolutely smashing their shirt designs out of the park while they're at it. This year, the Manchester-based brand launched the ‘For the Love of Shirts’ competition, offering a completely unique prize in conjunction with designer Blood In Blood Out. Obviously there’s been some disruption since the competition was initially launched back at the beginning of the year thanks to a little global pandemic, but now the winners have been announced, and the winning designs lovingly created and revealed to the world.

From over 60 clubs, followers were asked to share their favourite mash-up proposal using a maximum of four different shirts, while they also had to tell the story behind their selection. From all submissions, Umbro and Blood In Blood Out carefully chose the best stories and transformed them into the unique mash-up shirts.

Umbro has a special place in my heart. It is a great honour to collaborate with this authentic brand and I really enjoyed making the collection," said Floor Wesseling, Blood In Blood Out Founder. "It's a strong set of shirts, colourful, and will hopefully be liked by the winners. These are several different shirts that display the quality of the brand, the diversity of the fans and the culture of football.”

Helene Hope, Head of Global Brand Marketing at Umbro said of the project: “We are so privileged to work with Floor, who has such a unique view of the game. With this campaign and collaboration, we want to celebrate our many club partners around the world, but also pay tribute to the fact that more and more fans are not just supporting one club but are following many different leagues and clubs. With this project we want to pay homage to the uniting power of Football.

Each winner received their shirt in a specially designed presentation box which has been personalised with a quote from their original submission.
