Zlatan doesn’t do the movies, the movies do Zlatan. That certainly seems to be the case with the recent news that Italian production company Lucky Red are set to release “I Am Zlatan”, an adaptation of the striker’s autobiography of the same name, due out in 2021.

We should all know by now that Zlatan doesn’t play by the rule book. Well he does actually, it’s juts his rule book. For while the current trend is to have cameras following you around 24/7 for your own documentary, Ibrahimovic has gone one step further, having his story turned into a proper film that will retrace his entire career, with different actors set to play the Swede at different stages of his life.

The film is set to be an adaptation of the biography written by David Lagercrantz and Ibra himself, which has sold more than a million copies worldwide. Filming for the biopic has already begun in Sweden under the watchful eye of Jens Sjogren, while the actors who will play Ibrahimovic will be Dominic Bajraktari Andersson for the 11-year-old Zlatan, and Granit Rushiti for age 17 to 23. Zlatan has been involved in the script writing for the feature film, in collaboration with Jakob Beckman and David Lagercrantz, who wrote the player's autobiography.

Andrea Occhipinti of Lucky Red said: “Ibrahimovic is much more than a footballer: he is a pure leader, a legendary icon, a way of being that belongs only to him and that cannot be replicated.

The story of this myth contemporary that in Italy has found its highest consecration, could only become a great story for cinema.

Here’s hoping for an appearance from the Zlat-Mobile
