Burberry have teamed up with British collage artist, Jazz Grant to create a special mural dedicated to Marcus Rashford in Manchester. The mural features childhood images of the United striker with portraits taken by photographer Rafael Pavarotti for the brand's recent campaign.
Following the announcement of his partnership with Burberry, Marcus Rashford has become the focus of the luxury fashion house’s latest chapter in its recent initiative, with a huge mural being created in Manchester. In her first collaboration with Burberry, British collage artist, Jazz Grant, has created a unique mural overlaying childhood images of the English international footballer with portraits taken by photographer Rafael Pavarotti for Burberry’s recent campaign.
“It was all about creating something uplifting, positive and dynamic with a sense of community and supporting the youth,” Grant explained. “I wanted it to feel really exciting but also to have subtle textures and tones, essences of its immediate surroundings, so that in a way it blended into its environment.”
Burberry’s ongoing multifaceted initiative continues to celebrate community, creativity and the voices of the future, and the luxury fashion house has also joined forces with charities supporting young people across the world providing protection, encouragement and empowering them to shape our tomorrow.
If you’re getting a slight sense of deja vu regarding Rashford and a giant mural, that’ll be because the United attacker was honoured with one only back in November, created by street artist Akse in tribute of his charity work. Murals are certainly the in thing at the moment, with Roc Nation recently announcing their partnership with Leeds United with a huge mural.
The mural is live from 17 December until 4 January 2021 at 31 Thomas Street, Manchester M4 1NA.
