Wrapping up recording on his long-awaited ‘Donda’ album, Kanye West shared a picture from his studio, and despite being obscure it showed that he’s been lacing up in the adidas Predator Accelerator TR UltraBoost in its OG “Black/White/Red" colourway.
Named after his late mother, Donda West, Kanye’s tenth studio album has been eagerly anticipated. With its expected release right around the corner, West has added several cryptic new posts to his Instagram account, and this is where our interest comes in. One of the shots shows a black mask on a floor with the photographer’s shadow and feet (presumably Kanye’s) in the shot. And on those feet are a pair of adidas Predator Accelerator TR UltraBoost in its OG “Black/White/Red” colourway.
The pic was reposted by adidas Football, confirming the silhouette was a Predator, as if those iconic wavy Three Stripes and rubber elements would leave anyone in any doubt. The trainers originally dropped back in August 2018, using the exact same k-leather upper from the OG Predator Accelerator football boot, although placed on top of that familiar Boost midsole for a blended feel of streetwear and performance, and all wrapped up in that iconic and unmistakable colourway.
West is well known for his Yeezy range, but the sight of him in Predators opens up the possibility of a collaboration that would see the American rapper and producer following in the footsteps of Pharrell’s Human Race collection, which dropped back in October 2020.
'Donda' is expected to drop this Friday, 27 August.
