Paul Pogba & adidas Tease Upcoming Collaboration With Stella McCartney

This year saw Paul Pogba’s five year contract with adidas edge over the half way point, and while the pandemic has undoubtedly slowed down the impressive output from the partnership, it looks like we’re in for the latest instalment any day now. And it looks like Stella McCartney has been recruited for the project, which Pogba has teased across his social channels today.

The idea of a link up between Pogba and Stella McCartney was first floated back when lockdown was in full swing, and adidas were making the most of the situation and battling boredom by pairing up two ambassadors from opposing disciplines for ‘The Huddle’, in which the creatives would talk candidly about whatever comes up. And one of those pairings obviously found the flamboyancy of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba offset by the fashion savvy Stella McCartney.

Along with Pogba’s injury lay-off and imminent return at the time, the two discussed the crossover of fashion in football. With a mutual passion for design, conversation inevitably steered towards seeing football and fashion combining for a more sustainable future in sport, with talk culminating with the pair sounding out the idea of a future collaboration. And now it appears that the two have come together for what we’re guessing will be Season 8 of Pogba x adidas.

So what can we expect from the collaboration, and what are the pair cooking up? Well, it appears that there will undoubtedly be a focus on sustainability, and we’re guessing that this will be combined with Pogba’s unique identity and style. If you look closely at the tease picture, it appears that there’ll definitely be a Predator in the collection – that Demonskin upper is pretty unmistakeable. Other than that, it’s hard to tell much else, though could the colour scheme of the whole picture be a clue? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Probably won't have to wait long...
