Romeo Beckham Signs Long-Term Partnership With PUMA

Bucking familial trends to carve his own path, it has been announced that Romeo Beckham has signed a long-term partnership with PUMA. The 19 year old will wear the Future Z 1.2 as he prepares to embark on his second season in professional football.

The name Beckham is synonymous with a certain brand; they just go together like Messi and the Balon d’Or, having been together for the best part of 30 years. But Beckham senior’s playing days are long gone, while his offspring’s are just beginning, specifically one Romeo Beckham. Despite following in his father’s footsteps onto the football pitch, this is a new generation, and things are set to be a little bit different, with the announcement that Romeo has signed a long-term deal with PUMA.

Romeo is currently preparing for his second season in professional football after making six appearances for Fort Lauderdale CF, a USL League One side and reserve affiliate of Inter Miami C, playing alongside Phil Neville’s son in what is a nice next-generation nod. He’s a player that embodies a collision of football performance and creative culture. His passion and commitment to the game is complemented by his energy and style off the pitch and the combination is a journey that PUMA is excited to be part of.

His style sees him as the perfect player for the Future. The Future Z, that is. "The FUTURE Z boots match my game perfectly,” he explained. “They're light so that I can use my pace and agility, but they also grip the ball amazingly so I can dribble and pass effectively. I love the colours of the Under the Lights pack, which combine my passions of fashion and football!

As you can imagine, Romeo is blessed with an abundance of role models, not least his Dad who made 523 club appearances. But also amongst that list would be one of PUMA’s key athletes. ”I've been fortunate to spend time with Neymar Jr, he's an inspiration and someone I'm lucky to call a friend. As one of the game's greatest entertainers, he offers amazing advice and to share a pitch with him one day would be an absolute dream.

Speaking of the deal, Ben Hughes, General Manager of PUMA UKI, said: "We are delighted to welcome Romeo into the PUMA family. We're excited for Romeo as he prepares for a new season as an elite athlete and look forward to supporting his journey. Romeo adds a new voice to the way we shape football culture and build connections with our customers supporting our brand message of Faster Football and the ideal of driving change in the game."
