Magdalena Erikkson & Pernille Harder Star In 'Love Always Wins' Short Film

To mark International Women’s Day, a short film titled ‘Love Always Wins’ has been released, and it celebrates the on and off pitch achievements of two of the biggest names in the women’s game: Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder.

For many of us the idea of living and working with our respective other would be a bit much (don't tell our partner we said that!), but that’s the life of Chelsea team mates and real-life partners Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder. The duo are respected footballers, playing at the very top of the game as well as being advocates for and role models within the LGBTQ+ community. The film sees the pair engrossed in each other's company through a series of relatable and stylised elements, providing a snapshot into the everyday lives of the couple. The narration of this piece highlights moments of pride and off-pitch achievements for the two footballers.

"For both of us, difference is something we celebrate and value,” explained Harder. “We both feel so strongly that we should cherish diversity and we should strive for inclusion. We keep pushing forward because we want a world without discrimination and stereotypes, a world that really is better for everyone."

International Women’s Day is a celebration of the social, political and cultural achievements of women. For us, there’s no one better to shine a light on today than Magdalena and Pernille. They are revered for the conversations they’ve started and their unceasing efforts to challenge the status quo,” said Fi McCrindle, Digital and Campaign Lead at Ten Toes. “A huge part of what we do at Ten Toes is help players tell their story away from the pitch. Madga and Pernille’s story is inspiring and uplifting, so for us, it was really important to create this piece and make sure everyone is able to celebrate them and know what they’ve achieved”.

'Love Always Wins' is a Ten Toes film, written and directed by Dean George and produced by Fresh Base Productions.
