It looks like one of the last hurdles standing in the way of the construction of Inter Miami’s 25,000 capacity stadium, Miami Freedom Park and surrounding soccer village has been overcome after the City of Miami Commission voted to approve the project.
Inter Miami are now an established MLS franchise, but the latest step in the club’s development has just been announced with news that their ambitious Miami Freedom Park stadium and surrounding soccer village has been approved. It’s set to see the construction of the 25,000 seat stadium alongside 750 hotel rooms, commercial and office space, community fields and the single largest public park in the city of Miami with over 58 acres of freely accessible, clean park land.
Along with the news, the club have released renderings of the 58-acre public green space, one of the largest in the city. In addition to the beautiful 58-acre park, Miami Freedom Park will boast restaurants, retail stores, a hotel and the development of a Tech Hub that will further underscore Maimi’s status as a global innovative city. The club have also been at pains to stress the fact that this project will not cost the taxpayer a cent, while it will also generate millions in revenue for the community as well as an annual Fair Market Value rent to the City.
Inter Miami will maintain permanent facilities in the City of Fort Lauderdale – their current home – with a 50,000 sq foot training facility and DRV PNK Stadium.
Inter Miami will continue to play home matches at DRV PNK Stadium while the club works towards constructing Miami Freedom Park.
