Following in the footsteps of recent special edition drops for the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal, it looks like adidas have Juventus in their sights next, with the Italian side set for a collaboration with street artist Kobra.
Arsenal had a special hook up with Stella McCartney recently, and that was preceded by Real Madrid reuniting with Yohji Yamamto’s Y-3 brand as part of the club’s 120th anniversary celebrations. Now it appears it’s the turn of Serie A side Juventus, with adidas teasing an upcoming collaboration with street artist Eduardo Kobra that’s set to drop on 15 April.
The collection is teased with adidas saying “Kobra: Famous for turning tower blocks into realistic murals. His next canvas? Juventus. They redefine kolors, proving differences make the difference.”
What this collaboration is actually going to be is anyones guess at this stage. Could be a prematch collection, a special edition shirt, or could be that he's painted some colourful montages in the bogs at the Allianz stadium. Either way, we're intrigued...
This collaboration follows on from a special mural that the Brazilian street artist and São Paulo native donated to the Juventus Academy in the Perus district of his home town. Always mindful of his roots and origins, Kobra once again sought to spread his message via the visual impact of his work, this time through the values from the world of football, primarily socialisation and education, which football can convey in a truly inclusive way. They’re values that the Italian club also share, and so the relationship looks set to progress onto the next level, with what is likely to be a colourful collection set to drop on 15 April.
Looks like this is going to be a fairly exclusive drop so head here to sign up for more info.
