London-based Palace Skateboards and adidas Y-3 have teased an upcoming collaboration featuring Zinedine Zidane, with French skater Lucas Puig linking up with the Real Madrid legend to discuss football and skateboarding.
Since their huge collaboration with Juventus back in 2019, Palace have continued to strengthen their relationship with football through various collections and collaborations. Now they take another step, linking up with World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner, Zinedine Zidane via a tease video for their upcoming collaboration with adidas Y-3 – the Three Stripes’ offshoot brand with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto.
The short films features Zidane meeting up with Palace Skate Team member, Lucas Puig, with the two masters of their disciplines discussing their specialities before trying their hands at the others. And they do this while showing off some pieces of the upcoming Palace x adidas Y-3 2022 Collection; Zidane sporting a striking white tracksuit, and Puig in an equally alluring blue number. The pari are also wearing shoes from the collection, while a special co-branded football also features. Time will tell if there are any further fotball-football-related pieces in the full collection.
Zidane has a strong relationship with adidas Y-3, having featured in campaigns and walked during runway shows throughout Y-3’s 20 year history, most recently fronting the brand’s Spring/Summer collection back in February of this year. But this is the first time we’ve ever seen him on a Skateboard… got some moves though, hasn’t he. Expect nothing less.
