Ready for a debut in the next El Clásico match, scheduled to take place on 19 March, it has been reported that Barcelona will wear a special edition home jersey featuring the logo of Catalan singer, Rosalía.
Barcelona signed a sponsorship deal with Spotify back in March 2022, and speculation was that the music streaming service would use the partnership to promote certain artists, leveraging the position on the front of the La Liga giant’s shirt to showcase whomever needed the added buzz. Sure enough, on Sunday 16 October, for the La Liga El Clásico match against Real Madrid, Barca wore a special kit featuring Drake’s OVO Sound logo to celebrate his achievement of being the first artist to reach 50 billion streams. Now, once again lining up El Clásico, the next artist is set to feature, with Catalan singer Rosalía’s logo lined up.
Rosalía grew up on the outskirts of Barcelona and is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential Spanish singers of modern times. Reports suggest that the name of her most recent album, Motomami, will be printed on the Blaugrana's shirts for the next El Clásico, which will take place on Sunday 19 March, in the stylised wordmark lifted straight from her album cover. For those wondering why this album would be getting promotion, it’s all about timing, with this latest El Clásico coinciding with the one year anniversary of Motomami's release.
