Having recently revealed their new threads, Atlético Madrid debuted their 120th anniversary 2023/2024 away kit in the 3-1 win against Mallorca last night.
Earlier this week, Atletico Atletico Madrid revealed their special 120 year anniversary kit, which was inspired by the first kit the club wore following their formation in 1903. It’s set to be used as the23/24 away kit, and last night the La Liga side gave it a winning debut, cruising to a 3-1 win against Mallorca, despite falling behind early on, goals from De Paul, Morata and Carrasco sealing the three points.
The kit design subs out the club's synonymous red and white, with that combo having not become part of the club’s identity until 1911. Prior to this the club played in blue and white, and so it is this look that is reintroduced in a 50/50 split in the body, with the sleeves in blue and the collar and cuffs in white. The WhaleFin.com sponsor tweaks its tone ever so slightly to fit in with the aesthetics of the overall design, while the Swoosh branding appears in white.
Atletico will wear the kit again against Cadiz on 3 May 2023.
