With the season all but over, players are off enjoying a well earned break. But for the fashion forward amongst them, it looks like Paris was the place to be this week, with stars turning out in force for Pharrell’s debut Louis Vuitton Menswear collection.
Pharrell debuted his maiden collection with Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week, and among your Jay-Z and Beyoncés, your Rihannas, Kim Kardashians, Lebrons and your Lewis Hamiltons, to name but a few, footballers were also out in force to see the sights, and central amongst it all was one Paul Pogba. The Juventus midfielder was snapped rubbing shoulders with everyone, from Pharrell himself, to a host of players from across the continent, all enjoying their off-season by taking in the latest in fashion.
Joining Pogba at the show were England internationals Marcus Rashford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, along with his brother, Jobe; Samuel Umtiti, Memphis Depay, Jules Kounde, Sofiane Diop, Marco Verratti, Layvin Kurzawa and Marcus Thuram. Dressed to impress, all were decked out in the very finest haute couture as they mingled with the world’s elite before taking their seats for the show itself.
As for the show itself, Pharrell clearly hasn’t forgotten his links to football, and, having produced kits for some of Europe’s elite as part of his Humanrace x adidas hookup in the past, he once again includes a football shirt silhouette in this debut LV collection. The design utilises the luxury house’s iconic Damier print as a base, expanded to dominate the entire look.
‘LV’ takes up position as the crest, and‘Vuitton’ sits in the sponsor slot.taking centre stage as a shirt sponsor, and the words ‘Marque L.Vuitton Déposée’ are written where sports branding is traditionally placed.
