Bringing an end to his time with Under Armour and rekindling and old relationship, Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially been announced as an adidas player, and he’ll be wearing the Predator.
For several years now Trent Alexander-Arnold has been pretty much the sole representative for Under Armour at the top level of the game. But the curtain has now closed on that chapter, and a new one has begun with a bang, with the Liverpool right back-come-midfielder firing home the equaliser against Manchester City in a special edition pre-launch colourway of the upcoming next generation of adidas Predator boots, signalling his switch to the Three Stripes and a return to the brand he wore as a youngster.
Speaking on the signing, Trent said, “I have always admired the adidas brand & particularly the Predator boot. I’m excited to be part of the long list of legendary players who wear them too. I’m looking forward to this next chapter alongside a brand that mirrors my passions both on and off the pitch.”
Alexander-Arnold joins a growing roster of adidas Predator players, spearheaded by Jude Bellingham. That roster has already shown off some early looks at the upcoming next generation of the iconic Predator line, which sees the optional return of the famous fold-over tongue to mass approval. Those glimpses have come in the form of whiteout prototype boots, and Trent is one of the first to be seen wearing a version with some splashes of additional colour, with red accents playing out across the upper, notably on that tongue and Three Stripes.
Whether this was a specially designed colourway produced specifically for the Liverpool man remains to be seen, although it would make sense – those accent colours nodding to his club colours. There's been no sign of this look anywhere else, with Predator poster boy Bellingham having been spotted in a more classic black white and red colourway that's likely to be the launch look.
