SV Werder Bremen put a special emphasis on inclusion and participation, and for their 125 year anniversary, the Bundesliga side have taken that to the next level, collaborating with the Blaumeier Atelier for a capsule collection of fan merchandise.
Every year, Werder Bremen’s commitment to inclusion and participation culminates in inclusion matchdays, where everything around a Bundesliga home game revolves around the theme of inclusion. And for their 125th anniversary season, the Green-Whites have collaborated with the Blaumeier Atelier for a special collection.
The Blaumeier Atelier, for those that don’t know, are based in Bremen-Walle, and they’ve been offering individuals with various artistic backgrounds the opportunity to discover and develop their talents in visual and performing arts since 1986. It’s a place of self-determination, creativity, and inclusion. The works created there express unity, passion, and the ability to transcend boundaries; they are inspiring and encouraging, showing that art knows no barriers.
"At the heart of this exciting collaboration is the lively connection of inclusion and participation with art and football, as Blaumeier and Werder Bremen come together to live the essence of inclusion through creativity. That's why Werder becomes 1. FC Blaumeier for a day," says Claudia Hartung, Brand & Marketing Project Manager at SV Werder Bremen.
In the 'Grüne Bude', Blaumeier artists have crafted artworks around the theme of football and "125 Years of Werder Bremen." These artworks tell their unique stories of passion, dedication, belonging, and connection. A selection of these artworks have formed the capsule collection of fan merchandise. The collection includes a t-shirt, a hoodie, and the Hummel warm-up jersey worn by the men's and women's football teams and the women's handball team during the inclusion matchday, this coming weekend.
"At SV Werder, together with our members, fans, and colleagues, we passionately strive to advance the participation of people with disabilities in Bremen and its surroundings. This collaboration with the Blaumeier Atelier and the resulting products showcase this in a very special way," says Michael Arends, Head of Sustainability at Werder Bremen.
The 1. FC Blaumeier collection is now available at the WERDER Fan World at the wohninvest WESERSTADION and online at WERDER.DE
