To support the launch of the new Diamond-Ice boot pack, Skechers and Rising Ballers invited some of the best footballers in the UK to battle it out in a 5-a-side tournament, all while wearing the Diamond-Ice boots, with the winning team all getting a one year Skechers boot deal.
Last week, Skechers dropped the ‘Diamond-Ice’ pack, wrapping the SKX_01 and Razor in clean coats of white, embellished by subtle flashes of blue in the branding. Unlike many other brands that release whiteout boot packs, Skechers made the move to make these their main on-pitch pack for the coming months, with the likes of Harry Kane, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid all lacing up in the new colourway in recent fixtures. But the promotion for the new pack didn’t stop on the pitch, with Skechers teaming up with Rising Ballers to host a five-a-side tournament, with the prize of becoming a Skechers athlete for a year primed for the winning team.
Eight teams in total were competing at the tournament, which was hosted at Powerleague in Nine Elms. The teams were: Ballers In God, ImJustBait, with Antz as captain, King of Fives, Rising Ballers Allstars, Unsigned FC (a team made up of ex academy players who have been recently released by clubs), Cre8tors Elite (a team made up of influencers including Montel, Tyrique, Billy, Ergys, Louis), Hidden Talent (organised by Hashtag striker Alex Teniola and made up of other Hashtag United players), and GRT (a local London Sunday League team, run by professional footballer Sansom Tovide).
The competition was fierce, and in the end, Rising Ballers walked away with the trophy and the Skechers contract when they overcame ImJustBait 2-0 in the final.
Also in attencance were a number of Skechers athletes, including Zinchecnko and De Cordova-Reid as well as Anthony Elanga, Josh Dasilva, Ria Bose, Michael Dasilva-Gonzalez, Ronnie Edwards, Romain Esse, Dom Ballard. The event was presented by Josh Denzel, with HD Cutz also in attendance to freshen up trims during the event.
And the event wasn't just limited to ballers, with a number of other recognisable faces spotted throughout, including Joel Mensah, Ruben Carvalho, Hamza Semakulu, Tayshan, PK Humble, Araloyin (top boy), Nuno Da Man, James Alabi, Ramel Carter, and Mad Max.
