Como 1907 and Municipality of Como Announce First Stage of Studio Giuseppe Sinigaglia Redevelopment

In collaboration with Municipality of Como and leading architectural firm Populous, Como 1907 has announced the initial plans for the redevelopment of Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The first concept images of the redevelopment have been released to show what we can expect to see in the beautiful Como.

Stadio Guiseppe Sinigaglia has been the home of Como 1907 since 1928, a home that has seen both struggles and success over the past 100 years. With Como 1907 gaining promotion to the Serie A in the 23/24 season, it was truly time for an update to a stadium that currently only holds 10,584 people. And that is exactly what they plan on doing, with help from Municipality of Como and Populous.

The first stage of the procedural process of the redevelopment Is the submission and approval of the Document of Feasibility of Project Alternatives (DOCFAP). Como 1907 and Municipality are dedicated to an open and transparent process by continuing to engage with fans and local residents throughout – a true testament of their connection with the fans.

The expected timeline for the redevelopment goes until August 2028 – when Phase two of construction is due to be complete. The design and approval process is expected to last until May 2026, after which they will be able to start construction.

Potential concept designs of the redevelopment of Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia have been released to show us the possibilities of what cutting-edge new stadium we can expect to see for Como. It is clear that they are looking to completely refurbish the style of the stadium, turning it into a modern lake-side home with a bigger capacity and better comfort. From the looks of the images, Como 1907 fans can start to get excited for their future home.
