Roc Nation Sports Reveal Their 'Class Of 2025'

World-renowned agency Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI) has officially announced the signing of six of the most exciting young footballers in the game, forming their highly anticipated ‘Class of 2025.’

With an elite scouting process that prioritises potential over present ability, Roc Nation Sports International has been regularly highlighting the best of the best through their recruitment programmes over the years. This latest cohort once again represents the future of the sport, each player boasting a distinct skill set designed to elevate them to the top of the game.

Talent identification at Roc Nation is a carefully curated process, led by Nathan Campbell, Global Director of Football Recruitment. With a strategy built around signing only five or six top prospects per year, the agency ensures that each individual receives the full weight of their expertise and resources. We caught up with Campbell to find out more about the 'Class Of' series and what makes certain individuals stand out above the rest.

“Talent identification is a meticulous process, with scouting and recruitment being the core focus,” Campbell explained. “Given the significant investment in each player, we conduct a thorough evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses before making any decisions.”

Each signing undergoes a rigorous assessment process, with scouts watching them at least three times to eliminate bias and confirm consistency. This level of attention ensures RNSI recruits not just talented footballers, but the right characters to thrive in elite environments.

“We prioritise potential over current performance,” Campbell continues. “Many scouts focus on present ability, but having worked on both the club and agency sides, we seek players with a high ceiling. A player may already possess strong attributes, but we evaluate how they can develop further.”

RNSI’s commitment to player development extends far beyond footballing ability. In today’s era, branding and marketability play a crucial role in a player’s career, and it was through the Creative Soccer Culture lens that we wanted to explore this further. Campbell acknowledges the growing importance of an athlete’s off-field persona.

“While our primary focus is on football, we recognise the importance of a player’s off-field persona,” Campbell said, acknowledging the importance of character off-pitch. “Clubs now assess social media presence before signing a player, and we use it as an additional scouting tool to gain insight into their personality, work ethic, and mindset.”

Campbell also emphasised the importance of players developing interests outside of football, both as a means of personal growth and as a safeguard against the pressures of the professional game.

“I always encourage players to have interests beyond football,” he said. “The game has changed—players now have limited time off, and much of their downtime is still tied to training. But when you sign a young player, you’re signing a person, not just a footballer. Understanding what drives them outside the sport helps us communicate effectively and provide the right support.”

For young players suddenly exposed to wealth and attention, having outside passions can also serve as a crucial grounding mechanism. “Footballers, especially as their profile grows, attract a lot of outside influences. Social media makes them highly accessible, which can be both a blessing and a distraction. Having other interests keeps them focused and helps them navigate these challenges.”

Meet The Players

SAMMY PINNINGTON

A dynamic and mobile left winger, Pinnington excels at taking on and beating defenders in 1v1 situations. His versatility allows him to play effectively on either wing, making him a valuable asset to any team.

BISMARK OWASU

An exciting right-footed winger, Owusu possesses a knack for scoring goals and providing crucial assists. His ability to dominate defenders in 1v1 situations makes him a constant threat in attack.

REUBEN GOKAH

A towering 6ft3 centre-back, Gokah is a dominating presence reminiscent of Ledley King. His calm ball-playing ability combined with his defensive prowess makes him a formidable force in the backline.

CAYDEN LAMOTHE

An electric attacking right-footed player, Lamothe can operate on either wing or as a striker. His blistering pace and eye for goal make him a constant threat to opposition defences.

ANHA CANDE

A talented young striker, Cande is a strong runner and clinical goal-scorer who likes to leave the box and have the ball at his feet. Having honed his skills within the prestigious Porto youth system after first beginning his career at Real Sport Clube in Queluz (Portugal), he is widely regarded as one of the most promising up-and-coming players in the game.

RICCARDO CASSANO

A dynamic playmaker who combines vision and technique with mobility and intensity, capable of creating superiority and dictating the tempo with quality.

The agency takes a 360-degree approach, offering guidance on PR, digital strategy, and content creation while ensuring players remain focused on their footballing journey. But beyond branding, what truly defines long-term success? According to Campbell, talent alone is never enough.

“At the academy level, all players possess a baseline level of talent,” he says. “What differentiates those who make it to the top is mentality and drive. We assess how players respond to coaching, take on feedback, and show tactical understanding. Players who actively engage with instructions demonstrate a willingness to learn, which is crucial for long-term success.”

Making it as a professional is never guaranteed, and even players with immense ability sometimes fall short due to attitude or discipline issues. Campbell acknowledges these challenges and how RNSI tackles them.

“Yes, it happens,” he admits. “Some players are drawn to football for the lifestyle rather than the game itself. We educate and mentor them, but the drive must come from within. Talent alone accounts for about 30-40% of success. The rest is determined by work ethic, application, and mentality. Players who lack internal motivation often plateau, whereas those with relentless drive break through to the elite level.”

With the unveiling of the ‘Class of 2025,’ Roc Nation Sports International once again proves why they are at the forefront of football talent development. The next generation is here, and the future looks brighter than ever.
