Football Shirt News - Rangers FC New Home Kit by Umbro 09/10 06/07/09
Check out the first official pictures of the new Rangers FC home kit for 2009/10 as manufactured by Umbro.
The stylish new strip is launched on July 16 but a limited number of kits are available to pre-order from today for die-hard Gers fans.
Midfielder Kevin Thomson had this to say about the new kit:
"I really like the design of the new strip and I am sure it will be a hit with our supporters. I knew Rangers were a big club when I joined but when you see thousands of fans in Scotland and abroad wearing the kit with pride you realise how massive the club really is. Hopefully we can be as successful in the new strip as we were last season."
Umbro have a long heritage with the Glasgow club and with this new kit continue their retro influenced style. After the "tailored by" process for the England shirt and the cultured re-design behind the Manchester City kits, Umbro have taken influence from one of their classic Rangers kits from the late 1980s, made famous by players such as Ally McCoist, Robert Fleck and Richard Gough.
The SPL Champions will officially launch the new home strip on Thursday, July 16, with the adult short sleeve shirts expected to retail at £40 GBP. Currently the kit will be available to purchase exclusively from Rangers outlets including the Rangers Megastore at Ibrox Stadium, so you'll have to be quick to get your hands on a shirt before the masses!
