Nike US Women's National Team (USWNT) 2011 Kit

Nike US Women's National Team (USWNT) 2011 Kit

With the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup taking place this summer in Germany, Nike have released images of the new 2011 U.S. Women's National Team jerseys! To give the USWNT the edge this summer, Nike have created the lightest, most technologically advanced (and most environmentally friendly) jersey in women's soccer history!

The USWNT, ranked No.1 in the world by FIFA, will debut their new kit on May 14th against Japan and will hope to bring the US World Cup glory when they travel to Germany this summer...

The 100% recycled jerseys feature improved DRI-FIT fabric cut into a seamed shape to better fit the female form and give a larger range of motion. The women's specific kit has been designed to keep the players drier, cooler and more comfortable, allowing them to perform at their best throughout the 90 minutes.

From the looks of things, we could be in line for a new women's White/Blue/Silver Nike CTR360! As we recently saw with the images of the new Nike USMNT third kit, Nike's promotional shots of players in new jerseys sometimes offer interesting boots spots, with future releases or unique colourways often on show.

The USWNT are currently undergoing World Cup preparation matches that recently included a friendly fixture against England Women's in London. The US lost the game 2-1 which saw the end of their 52-game unbeaten streak in friendlies and England's first win over their US rivals in 22 years!

The two stars featured above the USWNT crest are symbolic of the countries two World Cup victories in 1991 and 1999. When the WWC was founded in 1991, the USWNT were the first side to claim the championship that took place in China! Current champions Germany will be looking to retain their title on home soil this summer as some of the best women soccer players in the world travel to Germany.
