Umbro Unveil 2012 England Home Shirt
Umbro kick-off England's countdown to the European Championships with the unveiling of the new 2012 England Home shirt. The new uniform that England will wear for Euro 2012 breaks Umbro tradition with a design that features just white and red. The traditional blue that has been a common feature on past England shirts, has been ditched and replaced with a rather smart red crest.
The new strip will make its debut in Wednesday's friendly with Holland. Umbro once again spare the visuals to create an elegant look the brand have become renowned for. The white and red shirt is styled after the only two colours on the St. George's flag to create a look that Umbro describe as; ''the epitome of Englishness''. One of the most significant and noticeable design shifts comes in the colour of the England crest. Matching the same Vermilion tone that adorns the adjacent Umbro logo, the England badge has stepped away from its traditional blue colour of past jerseys.
Like all Umbro shirts, the fancy new 2012 England Home Jersey comes alive in the detailing. Featuring a single-button woven collar with a red inner stripe rib, Umbro give players such as Wayne Rooney the opportunity to add some extra swag to their look with a detailed stripe design inspired by Sir Alf Ramsey's iconic 1966 jacket.
Technically, the new England shirt features front body darts to provide extra fit and comfort, while under-arm panels offer extra movement and breathability. The jersey is crafted from a cotton/polyester blended material, which offers enhanced comfort, movement and fit for both fans and players.
