Juventus Unveil Turin-spired 2013/14 Nike Away Shirt

Juventus Unveil Turin-spired 2013/14 Nike Away Shirt

Italian Champions Juventus present their new Nike away kit for the 2013/14 season. The shirt is drenched in a colour scheme that reflects the club's strong link to its home city of Turin and is inspired by Juve's winning past.

The shirt worn by Juventus during their glorious 1983-84 Cup Winners Cup victory serves as specific inspiration for the new jersey. The sleeves are edged with two horizontal stripes in black and white to reflect the traditional colours of Juventus and to create a contemporary look.

The shirt has a stylish polo cut and modern fit. Design details include a yellow collar with black and white border, and the club shield with founding year 1897 set inside the neck. Two side splits in the shirt with contrasting blue inserts match the shorts. The new away shorts are blue with a yellow Swoosh at the hem of the left leg, and the socks are yellow.

Juventus' new away shirt is similar to the new Arsenal away shirt that was unveiled earlier this week as Nike have opted to re-introduce the classic polo shirt collar, also found on the new Manchester United home shirt. Overall it's a decent looking bit of kit in our eyes. You've seen the kit, now have a scroll up and take another look at Pirlo's superbly masculine beard. Magnificent.

Like all of Nike's new kits, the Juve shirt is made with Nike's Dri-FIT technology. The kit weighs just 150 grams, 23 percent lighter than previous kits. It boasts a 20 percent stronger knit structure and significantly improved stretch. Nikes commitment to the environment continues with the shirt and shorts of each kit being made from up to 13 recycled plastic water bottles.

The new Juventus away shirt is available from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do think of Juve's new Nike away shirt?
