adidas Unveil Colombia 2014 World Cup Kit
New uniform pays tribute to Colombian culture.
The road to Brazil continues with release of Colombia's new adidas 2014 World Cup kit. The new design draws upon symbolic elements that pay tribute to the South American country. The shirt features a yellow base color which is combined with elements of red, blue and white, mirroring the Colombian flag.
The new shirt is marked by three symbols of major importance for Colombians; The Vueltiao Hat which is printed on a blue strip in the upper front side of the jersey, The Andean Condor - the wings of this national bird of Colombia, is printed on the back and linked to the phrase UNIDOSPORUNPAIS which translates to united for one country'. 
The last symbol is the use of the colour white. The color of peace is present on the sleeves and the neck and shorts. Representing the colombian flag the shirt is yellow with blue and red accents. Blue is found in the form of three stripes on the shoulder and on the front side of the shirt and red is represented with a horizontal line on the back of the shirt.

The band on the back of the shirt is a common element in all the adidas shirts present at the World Cup, although not always in red. It's a nice touch from adidas that gives a connection to all of the countries at the most important tournament in the world. 
Techwise the Kit is available with either standard Climacool ventilation zones or variations of adizero that combine different technologies to offer the lightest without sacrificing ventilation and fit. The adizero shirt weighs only 100 grams and combined with the shorts makes for one of the lightest kits in history. 
It's a job well done from adidas, a stylish kit that draws upon the countries heritage. With a new FIFA ranking of 4th in the world and players such as Radamel Falcao, Colombia are being seen as a force to be reckoned with. At the very least they'll being looking good when they step over the border next June.
