Nike Reveal Korea World Cup Away Shirt

Combining performance innovations with symbols of national pride.

Nike continue to roll out their World Cup kit offerings this time with the unveiling of the Korea national team away strip. With the inclusion of Korea's national flag colours - white, blue and red, the Taegeuk and an Asian inspired collar the new strip embodies Korean national pride.

The new Korea away jersey is classic white and prominently features the Taegeuk - the yin and yang symbol from the Korean national flag. “This kit possesses both revolutionary performance benefits, and a strong sense of celebrating the country.” said Martin Lotti, Nike Football Global Creative Director.

The design team wanted to give Korea a unique collar, one that has clear Asian influences and draws inspiration from classic Korean attire. Inside the back of the neck, a pennant tab features a Tuhon symbol in traditional Korean calligraphy that translates as "Fighting Spirit" and represents the inherent qualities of Korean football.

The red and blue interlocking shape from the Taegeuk appears at the top of each sleeve, with the right shoulder red and the left blue, giving the jersey a modern appearance and matching the contours of players’ bodies. The new away shorts and socks are white.
