Nike unveil Barcelona's bright new away kit for the 2014/15 season. A simplistic one-coloured kit inspired by La Masia, Barca's famed youth academy.
At first glance it's all a bit Holland, but the thought process behind the 2014/15 Barcelona away kit is a reflection of the young players in La Masia and their desire to stand out from the crowd. The bright crimson shirt features a crewneck collar and is finished with deep cuffs, which represent the Blaugrana with dark red on the front and blue on the back. The new away shorts are also bright crimson with a thin blue stripe along each side, while the new away socks are (you guessed it) bright crimson with a wide tonal stripe on the back. Like we said, very Holland.
On the back of the collar inside the neck is the Senyera, the Catalan flag, between Barca's famous red & blue home colors. This detail is repeated on the back of the collar, but with 'Barça' in blue and the club’s signature font below. Inside the back of the neck is a blue tab with the club motto: "Mes que un club" (More than a club), and their foundation year of 1899.
