Nike have revealed the new home kit to be worn by the United States Women's National Team in the 2015 World Cup along with a corresponding boot collection for the two-time World Champions to wear in Canada this summer.
The simplistic, brilliant white kit is designed for a strong visual impact on pitch with a contrasting black stripe running down the side of the body and shorts, to accentuate player movement. For us though, it's all about the socks, much like the new Holland away kit was all about the shorts. A white-to-volt gradient in the socks draws the eye to the feet where they're met by Nike's new integrated footwear collection for a complete head-to-toe look.
The inside back of the neck features a blue triangular pennant design with 13 white stars, a numeric reference to the original U.S. colonies and a visual reference to the American flag. The women's replica strip will also be available in men's sizes, allowing Americans to show their support for the women's team. Each of the '91 & '99 winners kits are made using 18 recycled plastic bottles as Nike aim to deliver a lower environmental impact.
