Bayern Munich get in on the new kit action as clubs across Europe begin their pre-season tours. Opting for a two-toned grey design, adidas have created a look that inspired by the City streets of Germany.
The German Champions will be chasing a record fifth consecutive Bundesliga title in the 2016/17 season and they'll be doing so in another set of strips from adidas. The classic adidas three stripes in orange give the jersey an injection of colour, while the four stars above the crest symbolise the club’s league success; as only teams with twenty or more league titles are allowed to feature four stars. The shirt is completed with the Bayern Munich motto “Mia san mia,” meaning “We are who we are”.
With the 2016/17 Bayern Munich home shirt featuring a classic collar, the away strip mixes thing up with a sleeker design wrapped in a shades of grey to pay tribute to the pavements and streets where young German players learn their game. That's the back-story, anyway. It's understated, gets the job done and shies away from the flashy colours and spotlights. German all over, Thomas Muller all over.
Bayern Munich will wear their new strips for the first time on their US tour where they'll play Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan before a Super Cup meeting with Borussia Dortmund and then a Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen.
