Under Armour and Aston Villa have announced a five-year-partnership and swiftly rolled out their very first kits for the upcoming 2016/17 Championship season.
It's a fresh start for Aston Villa this upcoming season as they begin life in the Championship with a new owner, new manager and new brand logo on the shirt after cutting ties with Macron. Every possible opportunity has been done to wash away the memory of last season and to make sure they're set for a new era in the club's illustrious history.
The kit will be worn competitively for the first time in the opening Sky Bet Championship fixture of the season against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, August 7, as well as during Aston Villa’s pre-season Tour. Features include the Club’s new crest, alongside a back neck label that showcases the Club’s core values – Pride, Passion, Purpose – as the two forces combine to elevate the Club back to their historical best.
“We are proud to partner with such a prestigious club as Aston Villa F.C., and our new partnership with the Midlands Club marks the start of an exciting period for the both of us,” said Peter Murray, VP Global Sports Marketing at Under Armour. “As we collectively strive towards future success for the Club, we’re arming them to truly ‘Fight Like Lions’ on the journey ahead. We are confident and passionate about Aston Villa F.C. at an important time for the Club.” Well, there you go. Onwards and upwards.
