Using history to look forward, Nike have unveiled the 2017/18 Manchester City home kit which is woven with innovation and inspired by the clubs title-winning 1967-68 team. A minimalist make up that is clean as well as classy, it's all in the detail where this kit shines.
Accompanying the classic City blue shirt, the white shorts and maroon-banded socks complete the deal and while there's plenty that resonates through historic honours, it's at the here and now that Nike launch this kit looking back at a more recent legacy that has lead their own game to new heights.
The 2017/18 Nike Manchester City home kit has landed with a campaign entitled 'Create The Future'. A simple message with a big vision, the blueprint has been layed out and 17/18 is certainly going to tickle the tastebuds as season two of Pep's reign kicks off.
The new Nike Vapor kit featuring Aeroswift technology is embodied with classic detailing. A traditional round-neck collar has been given a white trim and the use of the maroon band on the socks, looks to evoke the club’s 1967-68 kit worn triumphantly by the likes of club legends Mike Summerbee, Colin Bell and Franny Lee.
Performance innovation under the hood is where this one goes to work as engineered knit zones create a subtle geometric pattern that enhances fit for example. Additionally the sides of the kit feature a white stripe that runs the length of the shirt and shorts. Expanding when the player is in motion, the stripe maximizes ventilation. Finally, the City blue socks incorporate Nike Grip technology for the ultimate foot-to-boot connection.
